Not Cool

I've never posted anything remotely negative on this blog. It's not the space for that sort of thing. But lately something's been bothering me and I'd like to share my course of action and feelings regarding this issue. For the last 6 months or so, I've been experiencing harassment in the form of unwelcome spam comments being left on my blog, as well as explicit comments and links being left in other languages. I have loved sharing my creations, and little glimpses into our family life over the last two years that I have been blogging. I've made some wonderful friends through blogging, but I'm offended and disgusted at the people who are putting links to cheap, smutty "adult" sites in a space where I share photos of my precious children. Comments will be moderated by me from now on. How disheartening it is that people would behave so abhorrently.

    Oh dear that is bad news. I think you've done the right thing by enabling comment monderation. Try not to let it get you down too much :)

    man that totaly stinks - am so sorry this has happened! YUK! and als am curious how to go aout moderating - any tips??

    Thanks so much guys. It took me a long time to decide whether to share the problem here or not, but in the end it was the only way I could communicate with those despiccable people!
    Bellebree-to enable comment moderation, go to your settings and you'll find it xx

    I don't know what's changed in the last six months but I've been experiencing the same thing... I've just been deleting them as I find them, I never thought of comment moderation... until now, so thanks for that :) Hopefully they'll give up soon!

    yuck yuck yuck, I'm not suprised your now doing the moderating, and sadly that makes me feel I was right to click on that box in my own blog - sometimes I think I'm a little paranoid about these things but apparently not. Yah that you continue to blog and share your creations tho, rock on!
